Go Karts

Kart racing or is an open-wheel motor sport with small, open, four-wheeled vehicles called karts, go-karts, or shifter karts depending on the design. They are usually raced on scaled-down race tracks. Karting is commonly perceived as the stepping stone to the higher and more expensive ranks of motorsports.

Karts vary widely in speed and some (known as Superkarts) can reach speeds exceeding 160 MPH, while go-karts intended for the general public in amusement parks may be limited to speeds of no more than 15MPH. KF1 Karts, 125cc 2-stroke engine and an overall weight including the driver of 150 kgs has a top speed of 85MPH, with some Karts reaching Zero to 60MPH in just over three seconds, with a 125 cc shifter kart (6 gears), reaching up to 115 MPH on longer race courses.

Amusement park go-karts are usually powered by 4-stroke engines or electric motors, while racing karts use small 2-stroke or 4-stroke engines.

Karts run an array of surfaces and track lengths, ranging from small Dirt 1/9-mile Dirt ovals to 2+mile twisting asphalt road courses.
