ASCS Midgets

Identical to the higher-powered Midgets, the new ASCS Midget class is an economical form of Midget racing, with the ASCS Midgets competing with sealed, Chevy EcoTec electronically fuel injected (EFI) 2Liter Double overhead cam engines that are programmed with computers.

Capable of nearly 300HP, the RRE Chevy EcoTec engines are available at a fraction of the cost of more expensive mechanically fuel injected Midget engines, with a price tag between $8,000 to $10,000 race ready, compared to $15,000 to over $40,000 for their higher-powered cousins that pump out close to 400HP.

ASCS Midgets feature an open wheel design, with an open cockpit and direct drive gearbox, with no transmission. These racers are either in gear, or out of gear, and they do not have starters and clutches. Gear ratios are controlled through a quick-change rear end setup with a direct drive to the engine.
